Terms Of Sale

These terms of sale govern the sale and supply of books by IAEL to you. If you do not understand anything please contact us.

The IAEL can be contacted by telephone: +44 (0) 8700 111 111, by post at 3 Noble Street, London, EC2V 7EE, UK (marked for the attention of Duncan Calow, General Secretary) or by email at duncan.calow@dlapiper.com

We may amend these terms from time to time so please take time to check them each time you buy books from the website.

The total price and delivery costs of the books (whether in print or USB form) are set out on the website. For bulk orders please contact us separately using the email address above. You must provide us with accurate address and payment details and be over 18 years of age. The website explains the steps necessary to place an order for books and allows you to check for errors before submitting your order.

When we receive your order we will issue you with an acknowledgement by email either confirming that we are able to supply the books you requested or warning that we do not currently have some or all of your order in stock. We will use reasonable efforts to fulfil all orders but cannot guarantee that this will always be possible and may have to place restrictions on the volume of any books ordered. If we cannot fulfil some or all of your order we will refund your payment or agree further instructions with you.

Books will usually be sent from the UK. We usually deliver the books ordered to the delivery address which you supply by normal post within 30 days unless you and we agree otherwise, but postage delays may mean it can sometimes take longer.

If for any reason you are unhappy with any or all of the books received, you can return any of them for a full refund within 30 days from the day you receive them (this is in addition to the legal right which consumers within the European Union (EU) have to withdraw from the purchase of a book within 14 working days of the day after the date the book is delivered to them). You must however pay for the cost of returning the books unless we delivered the item to you in error or it is damaged or faulty.

If you have any questions or problems with the website or your order please let us know using the contact details above.

If you are a consumer within the EU the following applies to you: To cancel your order you can use the model form below but you do not have to. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your cancellation notice before the cancellation period ends. If you cancel, we will refund all payments received from you. We will make the refund without undue delay and not later than 14 days after the day on which: (a) we receive the books back from you; or (b) (if earlier) you provide evidence that you have returned the books; or (c) (if there were no books supplied) we are informed about your decision to cancel. We will refund you using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you tell us otherwise. In any event, you will not incur any fees as a result. We may withhold your refund until we have the books back or you have provided evidence that you have returned them (whichever is earlier). Please send the books or hand them over to us at the address above without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you send your cancellation notice. You must pay the direct costs of returning the books. You are only liable for any damage to the books that goes beyond normal handling necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

The above withdrawal right is in addition to your other consumer rights including requesting a repair or replacement if an item is damaged or faulty or a partial or full refund if the fault can't be fixed within a reasonable time. We are under a legal duty to supply goods in accordance with our contract with you.
