| Personal CV: | Denise is a true insider – and entertaining with it, quite literally. As well as being a director of Halebury and a qualified lawyer, she works within the entertainment business as a broadcaster. Her work includes weather, travel and news reports for Sky News and Sky Travel. She studied law at Liverpool University before qualifying as a solicitor in 2000 with London City firm, Charles Russell, joining their corporate commercial team. She has since worked as a legal advisor for BSkyB, advising on key deals such as the premiership football contract, the roll out of the Sky by Mobile service and key software development and content licensing deals for the Sky Interactive service. Through Halebury, the firm of entrepreneurial lawyers, she continues to advise BSkyB and advises other creative entrepreneurs on the best ways of making the most of their intellectual property, providing both crucial strategic and legal advice. She also indulges this passion for all things entrepreneurial as a regular speaker at the British Library’s Business and Innovation Centre. Denise is also an active community member and enjoys working with young people. She was a founder of Young Impact Performers, a dance company offering training and performance opportunities to young people interested in street dance. She also works with schools and children’s organisations offering mentoring and training sessions and is currently working on a project with Through Unity, a group that will reshape the vision and opportunities that some of our most disenfranchised young people have for themselves in Britain by bringing young people, business and the community together. |
