The IAEL Masterclass - The Anticipated New Copyright Legislation: The Music Modernization Act And  Its US and International Impact 

US copyright law reform doesn't happen often - so when it does we need to pay attention. This session will assess the proposed new legislation and look forward to how the application and enforcement  of the new law will impact the industry.

When it comes to addressing the Value Gap, we all have a role to play. This is the foundation of Miranda Mulholland’s advocacy, which has profoundly resonated with artists and policymakers alike. Mulholland will deliver a keynote and she will be joined for a panel discussion by experts in the international push to address the Value Gap, including IFPI chief executive Frances Moore and Anne-Marie Pecaroro, Founding Partner of A Turquoise. The panel will be moderated by Jeff Liebenson, President of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers.

The IAEL Main SeminarFinding The Value In The Gap

  

Last year we examined the positive effect of technology: supporting a return to industry growth and value creation. This year, we extend that focus to the so-called “Value Gap”, looking beyond the “Safe Harbour” debate at what other factors might contribute to the distance between rights owners’/artists’ expectations and reality when it comes to income generation in the new paradigm.
