Canadian Music Week - May 2014
Canadian Music Week, which took place between 6-10 May this year, is recognized as one of the premier entertainment events in North America focusing on the business of music. People from the world of sound recording, new media and broadcast come together for a week of events including informative, intensive conferences, a cutting edge trade exhibition, award shows, a film festival and Canada’s biggest new music festival.
This year, IAEL were involved in presenting a panel discussion on the IAEL book title "Licensing of Music - From BC to AD (Before the Change/After Digital)" co-edited by IAEL members, Adrienn Karancsi and Jim Kendrick. This session provided practical, specific advice about the increasing importance of copyright and licensing as new technologies allow content to reach global audiences.
